I was born in southern Italy, hold a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures, and I’m certified DITALS II, an advanced qualification for teaching Italian to foreigners.I’ve taught in Turkey, Peru and Togo, to students of all ages, and I know firsthand what it means to settle into a new country without speaking the language. Preparing for the B1 citizenship exam?
I prepare students for the B1 citizenship exam, the Italian certificate you need for citizenship by marriage or residency: CILS, CELI, PLIDA or CERT.IT (Roma Tre).
Already speak some Italian?
We check your level in the free trial lesson. Most students then need 20–30 lessons, two a week: about three months. Start at least three months before your exam date.
Starting from zero?
It's a longer road, and I'll be honest with you: plan on 12–18 months, two lessons a week, plus some study at home. We go step by step, A1, A2, B1, and then exam practice.

Questions before you book
What do I need for the lessons?
Lessons take place online on Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, whichever you prefer. All you need is a computer, tablet or phone with internet, a camera and a microphone.
Which levels do you teach? Can I start from zero?
All levels, from complete beginner to advanced. Lessons are one to one, so we start exactly where you are.
What times are available?
I teach students all over the world. When you book, you'll see the available times in your own time zone.
What happens in the free trial lesson?
We get to know each other. You tell me why you're learning Italian, we talk a little, and I get a sense of your level and goals. You'll see if my way of teaching is right for you, with no obligation.
Do you teach conversation only, or grammar too?
Both. We talk from the very first lesson, and grammar comes in step by step, explained clearly, when you need it.
